thanksgiving dinning room decor and Christmas link party features & party #2

If you are looking for the Christmas Ornament or gift for $10 or less link party #2, you can enter at the bottom of this post~

I already showed you what my Thanksgiving table looks like, if you missed that post you can see it here.

Our dinning room is actually the smallest room in our house. It is 11X12. That's 130 square feet!! Now I realize that is not much if you lived in NY city, but it is a very small room compared to our other rooms.

This buffet was given to s when my husbands Great grandmother passed away.  It is in good condition, there is some water spots on the top and the front, but I actually like the deep rich wood.

I used some of the Bittersweet bush clippings my husband brought home.

Here are some more of my Annie Sloan chalk painted pumpkins.I think I have just about beat that horse to death! The deer I bought this past weekend at an estate sale. I have a thing for deer. And Hippos. And Penguins. But deer are much easier to work into your decor. Especially in the fall and winter. The silver gravy server is new as well. $3 at a Thrift store and I love the shape of it.

I bought a bundle of wheat, tied it with raffia. Nothing says fall or Thanksgiving like harvested wheat!

This tall ironstone vase I have had for a long time. It is such an unusual shape. I never found anything that looked good in it until my husband gave me some Turkey feathers a few years ago.

The very large silver mirror I bought years ago from a Thrift store. $25. Lead glass. Perfect condition. SCORE!

The china cabinet was bought years ago and it is crammed full of 2 different sets of dishes, and various silver and crystal pieces up top. I really need to organize it and display it better, maybe after the holidays. The oval frame with beveled glass to the right of the China cabinet is our wedding invitation and part of my bouquet that has been preserved. Sorry about the light reflecting off it, as it is hard to see.

Now on to the Highlites from last weeks link up!

It is my first link party, so it was alot of pressure for me!! I was so thrilled at everyone who came and shared as well as viewed our STUFF!
But it was so hard to decide, I ended up choosing 2.

The first is from Lauren at All Things Home and her DIY photo coasters!

She makes this look super easy and the possibilities of decorating with tiles are endless!
I went to the Habitat Restore today in St. Louis, for the first time JUST so I could go get some tiles!!
I am torn between family photos or my kids artwork. Hmmm, you will have to check back to see.
Next I chose the Super Easy Tinsel Wreath from Rain on a Tin Roof
(cause who doesn't like rain on a tin roof!)

I have a thing for Tinsel. My Grandmother used to work in a tinsel factory when she was young. Every time I put it on my tree I think of her. But I have never thought of decorating elsewhere with it, stay tuned!!!

Next is Mandy from The Project Queen and her pics!!

Thanks so much to all of you for linking up some amazing and creative gifts and ornaments!!! It was really a hard choice to choose a highlight.... so I'm picking TWO!!! I'm lovin' the crochet hook holder tutorial that Wendy from the Crafter's Apprentice made! Gosh, it's a great tutorial. I think I could even sew one of these babies!!!

I could think of sew so (couldn't resist) many people to give this to on my Christmas List! Including ME!!!!
My 2nd choice is the map ornament that Barb from Turtles and Tails made.

Our family travels to Europe every year. I love the idea of making an ornament from the maps that we buy when we are in another country. I'd throw some clear glitter on this puppy and hang a charm on it so I'd know which ornament was from where. Barb, just like Wendy, has a great tutorial on how to make this awesome ornament.
I can't wait to see what you all link up this week! Don't forget to grab our button and spread the word...

my link to the party is not working, head over to project queen to add until I figure it out!!
Sorry!!
