I purchased this hanging shelf at a garage sale. I paid $10 dollars for it.
I have had my eye out for a shelf to hang in the kids bathroom. My inspiration for the
bathroom was a Pottery Barn striped shower curtain I purchased
on clearance on their web site. I normally do not like things so matchy matchy, but
I was really drawn to the stripes.
I found the coordinating bath and had towels along with wash cloths on Ebay, as they had been discontinued and were no longer available. at PB. The prints above the towel rack I found in a thrift store years ago. They say 'brush your teeth' and 'wash your hands'. They are perfect
for a kids bath.
The only thing we did in this room is paint and a new light above the vanity. (sorry, forgot
to take a pic of that)
I sprayed the new shelf with Krylon White satin. The blue that was on the shelf when
I purchased it would have worked with the bathroom colors, but I wanted it white
as it was going to be above the white toilet.
I have a small collection of mens shaving brushes I had forgotten about and wanted a place to display them.
On the second shelf I have a shaving mug that belonged to my husbands grandfather, with an old pair of manual clippers in it. You can't see, but on the bottom shelf I have some TEENY TINY metal rollers that were used for perming hair. They must have given the person receiving the perm a poodle doo!!!
I also have an old finger wave clip, that was once used to make finger waves in hair. Being a hair stylist, I collect old hair accessories.
I love my new little shelf! I may find some scrap paper or wrapping paper to tape to the
back of the shelf, who knows...
Love the way it turned out. Lovely
